Prof. Peter Charles Taylor is Professor of Transformative Education at Murdoch University, Australia. His vision for education emphasizes the importance of integrating the Arts and Sciences to help develop higher-order abilities as they are considered as essential capabilities in this era. Peter is also the Director at the International Transformative Educational Research Network (ITERN) in the School of Education at Murdoch University. This organization provides support to teachers’ professional development across the world in universities and schools including in USA, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and the Philippines. Peter has published widely in leading international research journals, books and handbooks and one of his main research interests is the development of socially responsible and culturally contextualised science and mathematics education. Some of his publications including “Transformative science education in Encyclopedia of science education published by Springer (2015), and “The fish becomes aware of the water in which it swims: Revealing the power of culture in shaping teaching identity” published in Cultural Studies of Science Education (2017).
